Mentoring Program

Once I discovered teaching apprentices, the wonderful gift that finding my path to sacred art had brought to my life, it became one of my greatest joys.  As a young student trying to find a direction for my passion to be an artist, it seemed to me that everything had already been accomplished by my artistic mentors.  Michelangelo, Lalique, and the ancient artists of Greece, Egypt, and Maya had already reached perfection in every media.  I then discovered the common thread of all the art that I loved.   They all were able to connect us with the transcendent powers of the Universe.  As this revelation opened a radiant path for my artwork, I wanted to pass my discovery on to other art students.  Over one hundred apprentices have worked with me over the years, though now it is difficult to find time to continue teaching with my many other responsibilities.  Nevertheless, many of my students have helped me by doing chores in my studio, the Temple, or on my 40-acre ranch to follow the ancient way of a master/apprentice relationship.  To view the artwork of a few of my apprentices, you may go their websites: Kelley Morgen www.kellymorgen.com ; Kathy Smick www.spiritmtnart.com ; Chris & Shani Christenson www.celticcreations.com ; Susanne Lanng www.lanng.dk  .

My teaching methods continue to evolve.  Recently, I spoke before a large audience about sacred art and this may be a new direction for me.  My books and documentary film show my jewelry, sculpture techniques, and the ceremonies that empower my sacred art.  I suggest that anyone interested in my path to the transcendental powers in art should read my book, “Sacred Art Sacred Earth,” and watch my film, “Sundancing with the Muse.”  And, I intend to continue mentoring a select few apprentices who are interested in my approach and techniques.  If you may be interested in learning these, you may send an application to me.
