Some of the sculptures in the list below are cast of bronze.
Heyoka carves the original piece out of wax, then a mold is created. Multiple wax
sculptures are then invested into a ceramic mixture and then fired in a furnace. The
ceramic shell gets hard and the wax vaporizes. Molten bronze is poured into the
hollow area left when the wax disappears. The number of sculptures cast from the
mold is limited. The small shrine sculptures are created by Heyoka using the
same fabrication technique as described in the jewelry section of this web site.
Heyoka is casting bronze sculptures again starting with "Warriors of
the Rainbow". He also finished a new pair of sculptures pictured
below, "Mother Earth and Father Sky".
