Alchemical Eagle Necklace

When Joni Mitchell and I designed this necklace for her using her aquamarine stone, we chose the alchemical double headed eagle. This is the symbol of the philosopher's stone, the highest achievement of the ancient alchemists' conjuring. It was featured in the film The Last Waltz documenting The Band's final performance.
